Changes for the New Year

Last year will definitely not make it into the “Best Year of My Life” hall of fame. While it wasn’t downright awful like the previous year, I can’t say that I will miss it one bit! I am really looking forward to 2012. Some big and little changes are happening here. Probably the biggest is my husband’s job change. Richard is a pastor and web designer. He has been struggling with finding a balance between being a Daddy, a pastor and a web designer. Something had to go. He announced his resignation as pastor a couple weeks ago. Are there problems in the church? Nope! The people have always been good to us and worked with Richard in the things he has brought up to them. Everyone is sad to see him go as pastor (and lots of people ask us if we are moving or changing churches- NO! We like it here!) and are saying such sweet, kind things to him! The second Sunday in February is his last Sunday preaching- bittersweet! But both of us are excited about this new chapter of our lives! He will not be leaving ministry- I don’t think he could ever do that! He will just be doing different ministry. He really loves to teach and has lots of good ideas to help people dig deeper into God’s Word and understand it better. šŸ™‚ Meanwhile our church is on the lookout for someone to fill the pastor position!
One of the changes that has already taken place is that Richard has moved his office home. My office is now his office, too. My office now has two computer desks, a sewing table, a piano and a dresser full of school supplies. It is a bit full. To make room, I will be moving my sewing stuff down into the basement. At first I was a bit unsure of how this was going to work, but knew it had to be done! The basement has become a bit of a dumping grounds. šŸ˜‰ I have spent a lot of time over the last few weeks sorting and organizing and now it is almost ready to move things down there! On the spur of the moment I decided to paint the paneled walls where I am putting my desk. I think it is going to look nice. šŸ™‚ I put the primer on this afternoon and as soon as I get done writing this post I am going to put the main color on! Exciting! I will make sure to post some pictures, so you all can see what it looks like!

Sounds like this year is going to be really good for your family! šŸ™‚ I love big changes – probably too much. šŸ˜‰ So Richard will be working from home now? Having Adam work from home was an adjustment, but once we got into a good routine it has been a wonderful change… aside from the recent morning sickness. But this part of the pregnancy won’t last long, and our schedule will go back to the way it was. How has school been going for you?

Richard will be working from home. It is taking some time to get used to things- a bit chaotic here! Richard is used to quiet. šŸ˜‰
School is coming along- not as well as I would like to- kinda hit and miss, but Richie is learning quickly. He is definitely not behind other kids his age and really loves school!

I’m in the same boat! School is hit or miss, but Austin somehow is learning what he needs to in order to stay caught up. He loves school too! That makes it so much easier. I didn’t register him this year, but will register him as a 1st grader next year.

Lol Adam said that same thing when he started working from home! He was used to the quiet and at home it’s chaotic! >.< But he's slowly gotten used to working despite the noise, and the kids have learned to be completely quiet when he's on the phone! They don't care if I'm on the phone, but boy they're as quiet as mice when it's Adam. šŸ˜› Hahaha! But it's been working out so much better now that we are all adjusted. It takes time. I've been thinking about you so much recently! (Every time I pick up my Making Babies book, actually!) šŸ˜‰ Can't wait to see you at the conference! šŸ™‚ Iā€™m really in need of the fellowship and uplifting, fun time with other moms. I miss it. We should plan another momma's lunch or dinner!
