A Belated Celebration of My Blog’s First Anniversary {Giveaway!}

Somehow I missed my blog’s first anniversary. Oops. Well, we can still celebrate, right? Better late than never…;) To celebrate I would like to give away two Doorpost’s child training charts. I have several of them and love them! I have two of them taped to my refridgerator- the ‘If-Then‘ chart and the ‘Go-to-the Ant‘ chart. I have a couple other charts of theirs that I will be using- someday. The ‘If-Then‘ chart has a list of common child training issues and a verse that applies to each. They leave you a blank space to write in the way punishment for the problem. I like that they are laminated so you can make changes to the chart easily. They even have a few suggestions on the back for different problems that may come up. This approach helps me to remember what I need to do and not just react to my child’s disobedience. I can also think ahead and plan what I think will be a fair way to discipline them. Richie helped me come up with some of the punishments! (most of them apply to him and I do a milder form with Lillon since she is younger- and much more responsive when I need to punish her!) The Go-to-the Ant chart is full of verses on work and work ethic. I like it a lot but tend to forget it is taped to my fridge. I think it will apply more as my children get older and I expect more of them in their work. I have to mention that they have an excellent blog with lots of great child training tips and encouraging articles!
