Pregnancy: Week 21

Some of the nuts that live in my house. Yes, they are very dirty. They play outside all day!

How far along are you?

I am 21 weeks along.

Best Moment this week?

My midwife appointment!

Prayer requests?

None this week.

Baby’s growth?
Baby is growing well as usual.

Symptoms?
Sciatica, a few leg cramps (I am going to up my cal/mag!), and my tummy is tender to bumps and such.

Medical Stuff?
I had a midwife appointment on Monday. I think it is wonderful that she comes to my house. 🙂 The checkup went well. I am measuring a bout 1-2cm big, but the baby is laying high and transverse. (sideways) My children always get a kick out of the blood pressure cuff- my blood pressure was a bit lower than usual, but I knew it would be since I was pretty tired that day. (90/50) Normal for me is about 105/58. Of course the midwife thought this was great since they worry more about high blood pressure! We had a hard time finding the baby’s heartbeat since- it kept kicking at the dopplar. 😉 (no worries, right!!!) After finally finding it, it sounded like a galloping horse. Lillon and Richie wanted to hear their heartbeats, so she put the dopplar over their hearts. Lillon had a demure, pitterpat and Richie’s was loud and fast- big surprise! 😉

Weight gain (or loss)?
Still gaining my pound a week.
Cravings?

None this week.

Food Aversions?

Nope!

What Made Me Cry This Week?
No tears this week.
Sleep?

Who sleeps well when they are pregnant and have small children?!

Maternity Clothes?
I sewed up a shirt and modified a long sleeve nightgown into a sleeveless maternity dress. My husband actually noticed and said they looked nice. (and he didn’t know I sewed them!) Of course, what I have been wearing around home has looked pretty ratty. 🙁  It has been very hot and the few shirts I have that fit require a cami under them. Two shirts=HOT! So thankful for my sewing machine!

Movement?

Lots of movement!
What I miss….

Zzzzzzzzzz……..

What I’m looking forward to….

Unfortunately, not Zzzzzz’s! I would have to say feeling comfortable again.

Labor Signs?
Just a few Braxton-hicks.
Thoughts from the family….

I think Richie is most excited. He thinks we need another girl. Strange child!

Something I’m Excited About….

I am heading a few hours north to a ladies craft day next weekend. 🙂 NO CHILDREN! I can’t remember the last time I spent the day with no children! I suspect I will be missing them by the time I get home. 🙂 We will be sewing cloth diapers.
Pregnancy related books you are reading….

No reading yet this time around. I will get to it one of these days. I am trying not to think about labor at this point.

Okay, I just have to say I’m jealous of a couple things here…..

That your midwife comes to your house

    and

    a day with no kids.

Sounds like you are doing pretty well! Thanks for linking up!

    Blessings!

I am SO thankful that my midwife comes to my house!!! It is really nice. 😀
A day with no children happens about once every year or two, so I try to enjoy them when they come. 🙂

I wish I had been able to make it to the craft day! I always enjoy seeing you, and it would have been great to pick up some sewing tips from you. 😉 Next time. And as always, I LOVE reading your blog! I get the emails, so I read every one of your posts… but I often forget to comment! I will try to do better so you can have some more feedback. 🙂 I hope you’re doing well Brooke!

Thanks, Heather! I have been thinking about you and praying for you and your new baby girl. 🙂 I am doing better and better each day. It is too bad you couldn’t have made it to the sewing day. It was busy and fun! I suppose if you don’t use cloth diapers, though, it would be a bit pointless to come and sew some!
